The system usually has a controller/timer that the homeowner can set to control when the system comes on and goes off. The landscape irrigation/sprinkler system is not found on all houses, and would be a separate inspection to add on to your whole house inspection. The inspection process will operate the system to determine if all the components are functioning properly, and that all required safety features are installed.
